Megan is a Licensed Professional Counselor with clinical licenses in Virginia, Maryland and Georgia. She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.
“I work from a person centered approach and our goals in therapy will directly align with your needs. I am looking to provide a foundation and direction towards change. I utilize primarily CBT, EMDR, ERP and occasionally CBT-I to assist my clients in reducing symptoms to reclaim wellness. As a black lesbian therapist I understand the importance of safety and comfort in clinical settings.”
Megan has over the past 8 years worked across levels of care including residential treatment, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and private practice. She has enjoyed facilitating numerous process therapy groups and educational lectures on topics such as boundaries, empathy, defense mechanisms, addiction education, and anger management. She has extensive practical experience in working with teens with addictions, young adult males with addictions, transgender and queer identifying individuals, neurodivergent individuals (autism, adhd, ocd), and second generation immigrants.
She is deeply committed to creating an inclusive, emotionally safe therapeutic space where clients from all walks of life feel respected, understood, and supported.
In her free time, Megan enjoys walking, reading, spending quality time with family and friends, playing video games, and watching reality TV.
